Igor Erovenko
Igor Erovenko is an Associate Professor of mathematics and Associate Head in the Department of Mathematics and Statistics at UNC Greensboro. Igor’s current research interests lie in the field of mathematical biology. He has published research papers in such top-tier journals as Bulletin of Mathematical Biology, Ecology and Evolution, Journal of Number Theory, Journal of Theoretical Biology, Proceedings of the Royal Society A, and Royal Society Open Science. Igor became involved in undergraduate research in 2016 and has since supervised research projects for 20+ undergraduate students as part of REU, NREUP, and regular academic-year research programs. He received numerous internal and external grants supporting undergraduate research. He has been involved in organizing and running an annual UNCG Regional Mathematics and Statistics Conference since 2016, including being the main organizer in 2017 and from 2019. The UNCG RMSC takes place on the first weekend of November, and it focuses on showcasing student research in mathematics, statistics, and related fields.
