La Toria Tookes

La Toria Tookes is a lecturer in the Computer Science Department of Randolph-Macon College in Ashland, Virginia, where she teaches introductory classes in cybersecurity, computer science, and business applications, and has developed courses for the Honors program. She holds an ED.D. in Higher Education Leadership and M.S. in Computer Science both from Nova Southeastern University and a B.S. in Computer Science from Georgia Southwestern State University.

Tookes’ research interests are in application software, software training, system implementation, evaluation of student success, and community college transferability. She serves on numerous community and professional committees and has presented her research at regional academic technology conferences. Her service includes R-MC Women’s Lacrosse Faculty Liaison, Councilor of Undergraduate Research (CUR) in the Mathematics and Computer Science division, and reviewer for the Grace Hopper Academic Conference Track.
